Charity and Fundraising
As we work so closely with the NHS, we understand the importance of the services provided by all healthcare professionals and the vital role that charities and support groups play for those in need of their assistance.
Each year, we do our best to give back to a charity or group in need of funding. Over the years, we have hosted: black-tie balls, hair fashion shows, party nights, sponsored swims and skydives, and more! All in aid of good causes.
Our last two events, in 2018 and 2022, raised a combined total of almost £20,000.
Breast Friends, the recipient of the money raised at our 2018 hair show, has been a charity we have worked very closely with for many years. As a thank you for our support, they generously donated £1,000 back to us for ladies in need of financial aid during such difficult times, so we were able to help ladies who met certain criteria towards the cost of their wig.
Our 2022 event for Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer, well known for their bright pink mobile mammogram unit, raised nearly £9,000! We also donated headwear and supplies to their ‘hug in a bag’ campaign.
In 2023, we were approached by a lady named Anna Goodwin, who was personally touched by the services PINK have provided for her friend and friends mum. After speaking with Anna, we learned that she runs her own Accountancy firm and really wanted to give back. Anna graciously offered to donate £1,000 to us, to gift back to ladies in need.
The Katie Piper Foundation
We have worked closely with the Katie Piper Foundation for several years providing wigs and hairpieces for men and women with burns or other scarring. The foundation offers physical, emotional, and financial support for survivors of burns, those with severe scars from traumatic incidents and patients with scarring from Necrotising Fasciitis. Can I Donate My Hair?
Here at PINK, we offer complimentary head shaving for anyone braving the shave for charity. Your hair can be donated to The Little Princess Trust – a charity that provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
