Pink Ladies Attend Afternoon Tea to Raise Money for Breast Cancer Care

For 25 years the pink ribbon has been symbolic of the support offered by Breast Cancer Care and the strength and inspiration of the people it has helped.

On Saturday 28th October we attended The Big Pink Afternoon Tea at Banners Gate Community Church in Sutton Coldfield.

Pink Ladies afternoon tea

The event was organised by Gilly Flower, whose daughter Vickie McHugh  is currently undergoing  chemotherapy so what better way to show her support than to raise money for a charity so close to their hearts. Gilly’s Friend Kim Scrivener also helped with organising the event along with Nat Scrivener , Vickie and her Best friend Leanne G who supported them with raffle prizes, auction items and collections and raffle ticket sales at her pub The Angel in Lichfield.

Linda Heeley Director of Pink Hair Solutions and Sheila Coleman, pictured below, attended the afternoon tea and said what a fantastic and well organised event it was and what pleasure it was to be a part of.  Gilly has since informed us that they raised a grand total of £3000.00 for Breast Cancer Care.

Pink Competition Winners Get Ready for Big Night Out

At Pink we cannot believe how quickly this year is going.  With the clocks going back next weekend and November just around the corner it will soon be time for Christmas, and for our Pink competition winners to enjoy the most exciting part of their prize – getting dressed up for the Breast Friends Sutton Coldfield Annual Ball.

Pink competition winners get ready for Christmas ball

Whilst the Ball doesn’t take place until 17th December, as all ladies will appreciate, it takes time to get ready for a big night out, and that’s exactly what our Pink competition winners have been busy doing over the last few weeks!

Firstly, our ladies have been into Pink to get measured up for their wigs and also mastectomy lingerie and prosthesis by Amoena – all of which were included in the prize.  Then it was on to Bernie the Dressmaker in College Road, Birmingham where our winners chose dresses from their beautiful range of gowns.

Finally, to add the finishing touches to each glamorous outfit, Hipheadwear kindly donated scarves for our ladies to wear.

We would like to thank everyone who donated prizes to our winning ladies and we are really looking forward to seeing the finished outfits at the Breast Friends Ball in December.

If you would like to find out more about the wigs and hairpieces, headwear or mastectomy lingerie we provide please call us on 0121 350 3826, pop into our Hawthorn Road salon or follow the links to browse our range.

Introducing our new Luxury Headwear Collection

We are delighted to announce that Pink now offer a range of luxury headwear items.  This range combines fashionable styles with a comfortable fit to ensure you will look and feel great.

What makes our headwear so luxurious?

Our new range of headwear is lined with Bamboo Viscose.  This is a plant-derived material and is Hypo-allergenic.  The main benefits of bamboo-based fabrics is that they can help regulate your body temperature.  Compared to cotton headwear items, those made with bamboo viscose are more breathable and deliver better protection from the sun’s UV rays – so you can wear them comfortably and with confidence inside and outside.

Another reason why our head wear items are so luxurious is that the material will feel very soft against the skin. This will benefit you if you are at the stage when your hair is falling out or for when the hair has fallen, as your scalp can become very sensitive.

For more information on our new range of luxury headwear items please call Pink on 0121-350-5826 or visit our store to take a look for yourself at the products we have on offer.

Natural Human Hair Eyebrows – Now in Stock

We are proud to announce that we now stock natural human hair eyebrows. At Pink, we completely understand that eyebrows frame the face and without them we feel incomplete. We endeavour to give our customers a look that makes them feel great; hence we now offer eyebrow kits in salon with an application demonstration available if necessary.

What’s in an eyebrow kit?

The eyebrows come in five colours and four different styles to suit all faces. They can be applied with ease using the glue provided in the kit. The kits are priced at £55.95. Included in each kit is an adhesive, an alcohol to remove the brows, a pair of tweezers and an instruction guide. In the salon, we offer a first-time application service whereby we are able to show you directly how to apply the brows at an additional price of £15.00. Every individual must have a skin test before using the glue therefore, we recommend that you make an appointment with us at least 24 hours before you require the eyebrows.

What do our customers think?

Our customers have given outstanding feedback for the eyebrow kits. These natural human hair eyebrows provide a natural, every day, yet defined look that works for everyone.  Just take a look at our before and after pictures below:

Inspirational Poem

Through the services we provide we are privileged to meet some truly inspirational women, and none more so than Debbie Lee who recently entered our competition for ladies going through chemotherapy.

Debbie wrote this poem when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and she has kindly agreed to let us share her uplifting words to inspire and give strength to others going through treatment:

The moment was surreal, the words did not sink in,

The moment I was told of the cancer growing within.

My whole world just collapsed, my feelings were just numb.

This really isn’t happening, I should be having fun.

Why did it have to choose me? What was it I did wrong?

My reactions are to fall apart, but I know I must stay strong.

I live alone, what will I do?  How am I going to cope?

But a voice inside says, “fight it girl and never give up hope!”

So, fight is what I’m going to do, tho’ the journey will be tough,

But I know that I will conquer it if I fight it hard enough.

And I know there will be dark days, when it gets too much to bear,

And I’ll have to learn to take the support for me out there,

And so, begins the journey I hoped I’d never have to make,

And I know the road is bumpy, whichever route I take

But I know I’m going to beat it and I know it will take time,

But hear me cancer when I say, “the victory will be mine!”

We’re pleased to say that Debbie was one of our 6 competition winners and we wish her the very best for her treatment.

Knowledge is Success

Director of Pink Hair, Linda Heeley, took two of our younger staff members Emily Heeley and Perri Patterson for training at Dimples Academy in Manchester recently, to bring further knowledge and advancements in technology to Pink Hair.

Pink Hair team at Dimples Academy

It was a very successful day as all three of us came back with new and exciting ideas, not only for wigs but part pieces as well. We spent the day at the Academy learning about different bases for different conditions and the types of hair available.

training at Dimples

Dimples were very helpful as Tracey the course trainer from the USA had a lot of good advice and experience to share.
